New man cave alarm and security system

Now I have electrics running through my garage, I've started filling it with kit of course. That leaves me onto security.

I want to use a combination of low cost and dummy preventative measures along with something more substantial.

Any thoughts about best practice here? I am a bit concerned about drilling through the frame of the UPVC door to mount the sensor and send the cable inside to the garage - any tips?

Waste of time ....get a small control panel bell box , dt , door contact and bellbox...
