new socket onto coaxal cable

Could someone help me track down some idiot-proof instructions on how to attach a new socket onto a coaxal cable.
I have a cable which has effectively been stripped, and the type of end that you can screw/unscrew

This is to attach to the arial cable for TV.

Disassemble the parts of the in-line socket.

The trick to terminating co-ax is always to prepare & dress the cable properly.

This may need trial and error, but you need sharp tools to carefully strip a couple of inches of the outer sheath.

Slide the knurled end onto the cable.

Pull back the braid.

Open out the "jaws" of the braid clamp and slide it over the translucent air-spaced insulation so that when the jaws are closed, they connect securely with the cable braid.

You may need to trim the braid if there is too much.

Now, again with sharp tools, cut off most of the translucent insulation from the central core. Not all, leave about 5mm ish.

Slide the rest of the assembly over the single core conductor and screw together.

When you tighten up the assembly, it will grip the braid securely.
