Hi all

I want to add another socket in my living room. Easiest route would be to drill through existing backbox to outside, then some form of suitable conduit before coming back inside.

What would you recommend to house the cable on the outside wall?

Was looking at Tower 25mm conduit and terminal boxes but apparently not suitable for outside?

There is probably miles of plastic conduit in use outside. Ok sunlight can affect it but that can take years. Biggest danger is impact damage.

you may want to consider adding an isolating switch - so if it does get water in or other problems, and you have RCD protection you dont lose the whole circuit but can switch that outside socket off at the Live & Neutral by using a double pole isolator switch

PVC conduit is fine, Use a smaller saddle spacing outside, and I'd not solvent weld the ends into the end boxes (I'm picturing a straight run of a couple of metres, is that what you have?), and dont push them fully home, to allow a bit of expansion with temperature, put a bit of compound aound the conduit entry from inside box to try and keep water out, and a bit around where the twin goes through the back, but don't pack the box. Fit a gasket under the lid and possibly drill a 5mm dril hole at the lowest point on each box if you are worried about water ingress
