Hi, so in a kitchen refit I am doing at the moment I have changed the tap from an old dual lever mixer to a new single lever mixer with pull out. Unfortunately the new tap doesn't initiate the boiler to produce hot water on it's own... If I run the bathroom tap at the same time and wait for hot water to run then turn the bathroom tap off the new kitchen tap will keep running hot water until turned off.

Now I have been sent a replacement for the new tap which has made no difference. My thinking is that the new tap and necessary pipes and fixtures are restricting the flow where as the old tap was a dual level which may not have had this problem. But I don't want to buy another tap for this not to be the issue.

Someone has mentioned replacing the flow switch on my boiler (Vaillant VCW 242) but a quick search doesn't indicate any replacements so not sure if this is possible or even an easy job?

Do you have any recommendations to find out what the issue is? I would prefer to get the new tap working. Let me know if you need any more info which might help.

Thanks in advance!

Does nobody have any advice? If it helps which I forgot to mention the boiler is a Combi boiler hence the initiation of the hot water.

It's either a restriction on the new tap not creating enough pressure to prove the DHW microswitch or the diaphragm in the flow switch is on it's way out.
