SELECT have the building standards system up and running in Scotland, and if you want to sign off building warrant work it makes life A LOT easier.
The NIC are more nationally (UK) recognised, so may be a safer bet. But remember they are based down south and have a more easily (for customers) recognised logo.
SELECT are based in Scotland and you can talk to a person on the phone with no problem, the NIC might return a call if you leave 4 messages on their mad voicemail system
I am in SELECT and am glad I'm in it. I'm also joining the NIC at the moment, then I will be able to offer both options to customers.
It makes my company more known and gives customers more reassurance.
It pay to invest in the short term and get long term gains.
