No boiler, gas or central heating ... What do I do?

Hi all
I purchased a flat that has no central heating, no boiler or gas in the flat.

How do I get hot water?

Also any suggestions re how I install central heating? Where do I look for a person to do it for me? Do I install electric heating?

Has this come as a surprise?

Would you be allowed gas, even if it were financially viable? (Which it probably wouldn't be.)

How do I get hot water?

For what? Baths? Showers? Kitchen sink?

Probably worth looking at a Megaflo, or similar unvented system. Ask on the Plumbing forum.

You've probably got no choice but electric.

When do you need heat? Is the flat empty in the daytime? Do you have a dual-tariff supply with an off-peak rate?
