i have recently upgraded toilet but have since discovered that the refilling of the cistern very noisy and waking up kids.
have found fill valves in screwfix that describe them as quiet,

would these valves be quieter as the description says and how quiet, my cistern is refilled by mains pressure,

thanks for any comments

The Torbeck type (Toolstation 32033) is a quiet valve, particularly as the filling water runs down a polythene pipe into the cistern...others will have their preferences too!
John :)

did you add an isolation valve to your 'upgraded' toilet? if you did you can partially close it to reduce flow. if you didn't it's not really upgraded.

If the toilet is filled direct from the mains I wonder if the correct size orifice/seating was used in it ...... (ie the smaller diameter one)
