Hi,

I have conventional white stair bannisters, etc at the moment and would like to replace it with oak. I have found this picture on a website and it's the type of fnish I woudl like to achieve.

I have managed to remove all parts of the existing stair accessories apart from the board fixed to the wall (indicated by an arrow in this picture). I am bieng told that this part of the stairs...

Q - How do I achieve the oak finish without removing the entire flight of stairs?
