That was my thinking too. I'm not sure whether the thing is doing a prepurge first though, the OP hasn't been specific.

I need to look at it more closely, I don't know what happens at lock out.

I'll prob get a new nozzle as the one in there didn't look that clean.

I've also ordered a gas analyser, so I can check the co.

I'll also look at the capacitor, is there any way a can check it before buying a new one?

think you maybe getting sent round in circles.

If the problem cause the boiler to goto lockout only after long off periods it is most likely down to either an air leak in the fuel supply or the fuel pump is on it's way out.

The air leak inthe fuel supply can easily be checked with either a vacuum pump or pressure pump.

An experienced oil engineer should be able to sort this out quite quickly.

It is not uncommon for oil pumps to fail after a couple of years especially if it has to cope with an air leak on the fuel supply.
