Just replaced the capictor and pump on my Boulter Boiler. Starts fine but fills the room with smoke. Any remedies i can try

unless you know how to set up the boiler properley NO.putting a new pump on without setting various things can cause havoc. hence today spending about 2 hours cleaning a 1 year old boiler due to pump being replaced, and not set up, 2weeks of overheat and a shed load of soot.

you could try setting the pump press to spec

you could try changing the nozzle

you could try doing a smoke test

you could try doing a combustion analysis

and that comes via a spanner monkey

who also does gas

and dabbles in oil

with some guidance

oilman and willhelm

cheers brothers

if your boilers smoking id also go down the route of protecting all surroundings as the black stuff is a stain that maks wine look clean.also turn the boiler off asap and get it looked at professionally.iv seen a boiler soot up to the the point the baffles had near melted.

I've turned it off, but boy is it difficult to get hold of an engineer to ring you back. Thats why i've tried to do it myself

hope you do get someone, but please make sure they are compotent on oil (oftec)and use the right equipment e.g gauges.smoke pump, analyser(oil).

sorry moliver34, have you anything helpful to contribute to this post, rather than being an ass
