Oil heater

So yesterday my oil heater which is portable appliance rated at 2500 W was on for a few minutes,started to smell and than went BANG!! Blowing both the 13amp plug top fuse and the ring 30amp fuse.
I want to have a look inside the heater to see if I can see the problem. Could a large amount of dust cause this? I'm not convinced but it's the only visible thing I can see before I get inside the appliance.
Could it be a fault to earth?

my guess would be a cracked heating element.. time for a new heater..
why you need a heater now anyway, it's warm enough without them surely..
 
Women! I work in a place mostly women. We have electric heaters with built in thermostats. I always find the stats on full and the offices all red hot! :mad:

racism does not, and cannot exist between people as we are ALL members of the same race, the Human race..
 
may i ask why bother its gone bang its a heater it will be more cost efficient to buy anothe r
