My house is no longer on gas but it still has a gas pipe with a leaver on it (valve?) sticking up through the floor. Can it be safely removed? I'm pretty sure the gas is turned off outside the house.

i should leave it if i were you.

1) what if it isn't dissconnected outside

2) selling point when you move house..........gas available if required

You have a point but some of the pipes throughout the house have been cut / chunks removed at some point. Someone would have to spend time and money replumbing / repairing them.

I'd have to have it checked by a CORGI engineer I guess.

how is your gas supply disconnected....do you mean that the lever on the meter is turned off?...or is it removed and capped?

Yeah it's got a pretty little hat on it. :p No I meant bump the thread to the top. I'm sorry if you're not allowed to do that.
