OMG we went to order the new carpet today and wanted it fitting end of next week, it is to compliment our lounge revamp and media centre. We have solid oak floors but fed up of them. The carpet is over £1000 so not cheap but a nice luxury one. Anyways we paid the money and agreed a fitting date. He said the fitters charge £70 to fit it which we didnt think was too bad. Then the shell shock, that is assuming a completely clear room and no furniture to lift about. As it happens we only have the suite in so not a problem, get this, to lift the setee from one side of the room to the other is a further £30. Never heard anything so ridiculous.

Not when it is only £70 to fit it, £30 to slide a two and 3 seater settee a few metres. No I will do it myself and they can watch me lift it and embarrass them.

They needn't think they will be getting a tip either as we usually do. In fact I will get Lena to hand them a tip and I will take it to make up for me moving the bloody thing.

We have had 4 new rads fitted today, serviced the boiler, disconnected a gas fire and supplied and fitted a new designer radiator and moved its position, £1400, I told Lena to leave a photo of me in the house where he could see it and he probably won't charge. Greedy get still charged.
