omhs reading for fan of ariston genus 27 bffi plus

that's a good example and I 100% agree with you ie earth wires should never ever be used for anything other than earth connections, whether over sleeved/marked or not, and for good reason
I hope you advised them "why not"

I tried, I really did, but there's no telling someone who can't see why it's wrong.

Oh and I'm not knocking sparkies either RF, I used to be one

Matt

Why "used" to be? Unless you've retired, I can't understand why you'd do that

nah not retired yet mate, and I still took my 17th but I work in the commercial/industrial sector now trouble shooting and repair mostly on BMS or HVAC systems,I do other stuff too
to answer your second question, I'm enjoying what I do now but thats not to say I didn't enjoy it when I was solely a sparkie

now and then I give the sparkies a hand but its usually on a fault finding exercise, not installs
I'm mostly involved with the plumbing/engineering trade these days so usually hang in here but I post in electrics at times.

Hat off to you. Nothing more satisfying than wiring a BMS panel, setting up a decent trend IQ and watching something the mech lads have installed spring to life.

Wasn't having a go RF, but I don't see many exceptions to what I said round these parts. It's mainly due to electricians struggling to understand the mechanics of it, micro switch makes, x,y,z runs etc.
Guess being a qualified spark just makes it a bit easier for me.
