Hi I'm new here, and I'm hoping for the advice of a qualified electrician.
My mother-in-law is a council tenant. She has recently changed homes and moved into a small bungalow.
When we went to view the property, we were surprised to see that the cooker gap and wiring was situated next to the sink, and underneath a window.
We queried this with the council representative, and she initially agreed that it did seem strange, and that she'd get it moved.
Last week an electrician appointed by the council went to the house and claimed that there was nothing wrong with its location, but he'd fit a new plug socket to the wall as the old one looked tired.
Surely this can't be right? - It's an electric cooker, with ceramic hob. Next to the sink, and under a window?
Any advice would be welcomed.
