I am thinking of installing up to 4 wall lights out door around my patio. To keep things simple I am thinking of plugging into the outdoor socket that I use for the lawnmower etc. I’m thinking of running the cable up and across the exterior walls and under the barge board. Can anyone advise on the cable to use please; preferably brown in colour. Thanks in advance.

Use SWA or (un armoured) NY-J but check that the daisy chain effect doesn’t compromise the IP rating of the lights by allowing in rain or moisture. You will have to switch from inside if you can’t terminate the ny-j in a plug, If it’s “temporary“ removable lighting you could get away with RNF rubber flex cable and a plug. The circuit must be protected.
