Hi

think i have just made a big mistake, just painted some new fence panels with cupinol ducks back, and thought i would try in on a previously undercoated and glossed side gate to match. i now realise this was a big mistake  the first coat seemed to go up okay but did not cover the prevously white gate, but the second coat if not applied quickly seemed to take the first coat off. i have got the second coat up, but im not convinced it will stay there very long. the question is now best to stabilize this big mistake and get some for a final answer painted on.
your suggestions would be appreciated
many thanks

This might be better off in the decorating forum to be honest.
However, I'd say your only real option is to remove the paint either by stripping or sanding off because if I recall the cuprinol is designed to be applied straight to timber.
