Alright guys, im after a little advise if poss. Im new to all this so take it easy.

I am going to hand some embossed wallpaper in my bedroom to hide all the little lumps and bumbs i have on the walls, then was going to paint it white.
My question is do I need to paint it white as the paper is white? Is there any advantage to painting it?

Cheers

Painting it will hide any joins or smears you may encounter while hanging the paper.

Depends on the wallpaper. Some embossed paper is made to be painted, others have a coating and do not take paint.
I would go for the former and then paint with mat - this will help to cover the imperfections and if you want to change the colour or freshen it up later you do not have to re wallpaper.
