Parkside Quick Clamps Any Good?

I have a number of trigger based clamps. They perform a function but they are vastly inferior to twisting G clamps if you need to apply significant force (ie. not move when you are working).

Thus far, I have never cracked the mechanism on any of my trigger clamp clamps but, that said, I have never purchased a "cheap" one.

They do however "creep". You can be working on trigger clamped materials, and the clamped matter will shift through vibration.

Granted, you mentioned "limitations" but I wish that consumers were warned of those limitations at the point of purchase.
Yeah I've been bitten by that. I have found the (mainly metal) Speedclamps give a much more positive clamp than the plastic things. The big metal Lidl clamps are excellent (except for needing 2 hands to set)

Only went and broke one of my long Parkside clamps whilst trying to put together a new garden chair that needed to be tensioned, gutted, they were great clamps, haven't seen them in my Lidl since I bought them in 2022.

i have now purchased quite a few more irwin clamps - i was not happy with the lidl for putting a lot of pressure onto an item, they are ok for holding on a bench to some extent - or wood together , also tried wickes when they closed a branch and were at least 50% off

But could not beat the irwins i had - only the 24"and 36" - so screwfix had an offer on the 12" and 18" - so got all they had - 5 of each i think
been brilliant , i had to work out a corner door and they clamped various widths of wood/arris rail to a brick post , till i got the angle right - and its was only the irwin that had enough grip to hold the post and door on a hinge

keep an eye open they are very often on offer , as a bessey - which i'm keeping an eye on , as can be used to keep wall cabinets at a height off worktop and will be fitting 5 of these on various walls in not to distant future

There was no problem with the Parkside clamp, it was being abused in a way I knew it shouldn't be so was no surprise it broke like it did.

I have a couple of pairs of them, they seem OK but I'm not really keen on quick clamps, I have never found them strong enough.
