Patterson puma 80e

Okay I’ll give it ago :) should be able to test the capsule when it’s out too :)

Okay I ordered the part you suggested! Took the boiler apart for it not to be the correct part :( I’m not entirely sure how it works but I saw no movement when applying heat to the original part.

any ideas?

you said your boiler is a Potterton Puma 80E, that is the wax capsual for that boiler, do you actually have a different boiler ?

You're confused...the left hand part is the wax element the right hand parts are just the spacers.
The wax element is in the front section that you're already removed...the part with the 2 1/2" threads on it.

It appears so if that’s the case! But the new part doesn’t look like any of them!

remember the new part is on the left of the photo! The black parts are what I’ve removed?

I’ve just filled the system back up! I have a leak coming from one of the pipes I disconnected and I now have a low system light on!

many ideas I can live with a small leak for now :)

That is the correct wax capsule for your boiler, the parts you removed are not the capsule
