Do you know what it is? Not in the cosmological/physics sense - from that POV nobody does, but in the common everyday sense.

Badly installed flex can have permanent curves if one of the cores has been tugged more than the other two when the insulation was stripped off.

I don't think the op is necessarily complaining about the electrician's work re the pendants, just looking for an explanation that leads to a solution.

Although If I were being pedantic, the roses don't appear to be screwed up tight to the ceiling.
