Philips GU10 lamp not fitting in GU10 holder

Thanks for all your help so far guys, I a bit thick when it comes to electrics!
So I also managed to damage the earth cable running into the back of the bulb holder. I managed to crimp an adaptor onto the end of it but the cable is far too short to be safe.

What would be a suitable earth cable to replace it with?

(Ignore this i found some)

So I have now the lamp holder which is double insulated. I have turned off the downstairs lights at my fuze box and confirmed all downstairs lights are off.
However, when I use a mains tester pen it is showing as 12V still? why might this be?

Why take a chance on electrics. Prove dead or risk being dead.

No offense but you come across as being a little beyond your capabilities.
