Well folks, it's that time again.


External flood light:

It looks like the person who fitted it, in the 1st place, did it right, by using flex instead of T+E, & then some idiot came along, & wanted to run another light off the floodlight cable, so cut the floodlight cable put in an indoor JB, instead of a waterproof JB, & ran another piece of flex from the JB to their new light.

How many times do you see Floodlights, or outside lights wired in T+E, which is clipped to the wall with no protection from the sun?

What is the other piece of flex running? Is it another Floodlight?
 
Yep another 2 floodlights.

I'll take another pic when I go back on monday.

It will cause even more ammusement :lol:
 
What makes flex better at resisting solar gain than T+E? We cant tell the colour of the flex - it's pink.
 
I've seen worse than that on a commercial premises. A flex comes 12 feet overhead from ANOTHER COMMERCIAL premises, down the wall clipped, then theres a TAPED JOINT - no box! where there is a T+E to a floodlight, and then it goes through the edge of a door frame indoors.

t & e is not uv stabilised and not "cold resistant", unlike for example arctic blue
 
Yes, and us sparks clip arctic grade to customers walls all the time!
