Afaict single core AWA cables are used for the REALLY big stuff where a multicore armored would be two unweildly.All our armoured cables seem to be multicore SWA.

Anyhoo, I have never come across AWA cable, HV use maybe?
Most of the larger single core cables I have worked with, 300 and 500, have all the components of SWA cable but no actual armour, used for large submains.
