PIRs

PIR in my cloakroom & downstairs hall, they are great, but yes only there because someone wont turn off.
I use the cheap ones from China, via Ebay, over a year now no problems.

Imagine my surprise when, "quietly contemplating" at our local Chinese restaurant , the lights suddenly went off after about 4 minutes! Turns out they'd had PIR's fitted in the toilets since my last visit. Only problem was, nobody else walked in and the PIR was not in line of sight from the cubicle.
Mrs Sheds had a similar problem in a WC in a small auberge in rural France.

So 100% pitch dark that she couldn't even get out of the cubicle.

Doesn't worry me how you turn on the light as long as it's safe. When I was a boy we had an outside loon with no light so I'm just grateful to have a light that doesn't go off "mid-job"
