Perhaps Stoday would enlighten us by indicating which diagram in the linked page solved kev's problem.
The very first Wiring diagram I would imagine
The OP only needed to understand the rose wiring
If you mean the very first line drawing:
That wouldn't help a novice with three cables at the rose.

That is what everyone except Stoday was advising, and subsequently NOT followed by the OP.
