Myson Economist boiler, 18 years old, open vented system, fully pumped mid position system, 8 radiators, 1 month problem.
My pilot keeps going out, had BG change an overheat stat and thermocouple, ok for 2 weeks, then same problem, had gas valve changed. BG eng said pilot flame ok. Worked for an hour then went off again no pilot. BG relit it and left, hour later off again! They now suspect pump, heat exchanger scaled or pump over run? Can i test these myself? Is there a test they do anyway?
I think they want a new boiler out of me, please advice welcome.
