Plod has 'regrets'...

Thats a difficult thing to asses. There were arrests for possession (weapons, drugs etc), but that is not to say those people were linked to protestors. With football we has specific laws and offences.

So if they're 'not linked to protestors' what were they doing there with weapons and drugs?

Why do people get stabbed at carnivals? Criminals like crowds.

correct - but were they linked to those protesting about the coronation?

But if these people had weapons they weren't wrongfully arrested in that case, yes?
Agree.

It's a stretch to say that they were the "not our king" type protestors though. Stand to be corrected, but I don't think they are known for violence of any sort. Unless you count banners and placards and shouting as violent behaviour

So people who attend carnivals are all drug dealing gangsters?

Those saying the police did the right thing arresting all those people disrupting the proceedings, please answer this:

Why would the police arrange a place where people could protest, if it were illegal?

Of course not.
But if you're carrying a knife and your stash to a public event, you're liable to be prosecuted under the law, if caught.
But some of those people weren't there to protest the monarchy. They were there to protest climate change and cause disruption.
They were removed.

Because they didn't like the view.:p

This is what happens when you give these protesters the right to freedom of speech.
Utter garbage. Are you seriously attempting to state that having the right to protest directly leads to people throwing coloured powder?

By your logic, all cars should be banned as they're all capable of breaking the speed limit.

Ban everything, just in case someone misbehaves. Putin (and Sunak) would be proud of your wonky logic.

Have to agree with that.

Twisted logic

Fully agree with them being prosecuted for the offences. But don't let overstepping the mark be a reason to stop all protests.
