Yes, that would be OK - but beware, someone (who, in my opinion, you should ignore) will probably be along to say that you shouldn't (in case someone unplugs it and plugs in a vacuum cleaner or fan heater instead!).
That’s great thanks but, the socket is in the loft and I wanted to drop it down into then airing cupboard. Is it ok to plug in a 1 socket 13amp Extension lead into the socket and the plug the charger into the extension lead?
I would be very concerned about a Switched Mode Power Unit ( the charger ) being inside an airing cupboard. They get warm in free air... they can get very hot if covered by clothes that prevent them being cooled by moving air.
I suppose that depends to some extent on how hot it gets inside your airing cupboard -as bernard has said, a 'hot' environment is not the best of places for something electrical which gets 'warm' in normal service, anyway.
