plywood flooring

Hi,

I'm renovating a bathroom in an old Victorian house.
I've had to remove the floor and I'm looking for replacing it.
We've chosen Amtico flooring for the final layer.
Can I use 18mm plywood sheets on top of the timbers (400mm spacing)?
Is it hard enough?
I know that chipwood is cheaper put I've heard it could be noisy.
The room is only 4 square metres.
Is there any special plywood I must use?
The Amtico (and the glue) layer will protect the wood against moisture but do I need to protect the edges near the walls (expansion gap)?

Yes 18mm WBP ply is what you should use.

You can seal the perimeter with silicon after the floor is laid.

it doesn't hurt to give the cut edges of the ply a couple of protective coats of oil-based primer. I prefer Aluminium Wood Primer. There is always a chance of the bath overflowing or a leak.

If I understand some other post, I need to screw the Ply onto the joists but do I need a Elastomeric adhesive?
