Hi,

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on finishing my garage conversion.

The job is just about done and I now have a fantastic utility room, partitioned off from the rear of my attached garage. All done under building regs and final inspection due tomorrow.

My question is about the garage side of the parition wall. It is 2 layers of plasterboard and I would like to cover the wall with something a bit tougher, as the kids bikes will be parked against it. I was thinking about lining in plywood and painting to save me from plastering the wall.

Is there any reason that this would not be advisable?

Thanks

Luke

be11aml, good evening.

Short answer is Yes you can, after the Final Inspection.

Suggest that the timber boarding you choose needs to be no higher than the handle bars of the Bikes [But allow for age related "growth"?]

As far as what board to use? there are loads of types out there, it all depends on your preferred finish? [and cost???]

Ken.
