Is this the video. He doesn't stamp on the flag himself. But it looks like he did encourage a passer by to do something which started as a dance and then ended with stamping.

I would seriously like to understand his message. Normally you would expect somebody shouting Allah Akbar to carry some sort of Muslim flag. According to my trusty Google, which I have now checked, carrying a Union Jack and shouting Allah Akbar is usually a form of counter protest against the far right, demonstrating that Muslims can also be patriotic. On the other hand he seems to be dressed as a Hamas terrorist.

I have found out that normally, when a Muslim holds a Union Jack and shouts Allah Akbar, he is reclaiming British patriotism from the far right. So, that it is my starting point. In this case, there seems to be a mixed message.

Is this man even a Muslim.

He makes a peace sign when asked for a photograph.

Is it all a bit of performance art.

Regardless, we live or are supposed to live in a free democratic country. It is not their 'area'.

There are some here - predominantly of a right-wing, hate-filled, violent nature, who claim that this is their country, and nobody elses. They hurl abuse at anybody who they think doesn't display enough "patriotism", (which in their "minds" includes being to the left of Reform), and they relish the idea of a race war. Some openly call for the country to be invaded and subjugated by a foreign power.

It isnt a union jack, that is only when it is at sea, it is a union flag. Think on...

But forget about the stamping bit for a second. The man with the flag didn't do that.
