Ok first decent day for a fortnight so did a wide loop of Dunkery Beacon the highest point on Exmoor.

Hard frost and a misty start to the day

Started off at Horner a small hamlet at the bottom of the moor but a decent NT car park and worked my way up.

By mid day the mist had cleared to leave a almost perfect November day for walking.

Forgot to mention, on the local news/weather forecast the following evening the weatherman showed pictures of the sunset, lots of people phoned in asking about it's unusual appearance.

Apparently it was due to the combination of altostrata and altocumulous cloud reflecting the light.

Something I've not noticed until about the last four or five years....
Has something changed, or have I just become aware of it?
It being, crazily salmon - pink lighting some mornings. Not skies, but an all - encompassing, almost fog - like in its smothering, lighting.
Like something out of a Sci - fi film.....
