Hey everyone!
I'm hoping someone wont mind helping me with this?
Were due to move soon and money is a bit tight, but I want to sort this out for the new owner.
We had the old potterton controller, that this one is meant to be a straight swap to.
Back in December we had a problem with the central heating. An emergency guy came out, put a 'link' in to keep the heating and hot water on.
We then replaced the controller with the newer ep2002. We thought that it would be a straight swap. We took out the 'link', but I feel that that should have stayed in but linked somewhere else.
Anyway- the HW, does not turn on or off now. The CH works ok.
Please will someone point out the obvious for me so I can put it right please?
Much appreciated and a million thanks in advance!

Which link have you removed? Was it the grey one?

Hello,
No the link is no longer there. I took it out thinking that it was added in and was no longer needed. It was a black wire. Thank you

....just to add. I had a friend try and help me over the phone last night. We discovered that if you take the grey wire out of makes no difference to the central heating working- but we couldnt fathom out which port to connect it to to make the hot water switch work.
Weve had the wiring diagrams out from the instructions, but still makes no sense.

It was in the 4th terminal, but I'm not sure about the other.

The grey wire at the moment is in L to 3. If I move it from 3 to 4 both heating and hot water are on together and the switch on the control panel will not turn them off.

Ok. Done that.
Now the hot water turns on and off, but the central heating doesnt turn on. Its reversed the problem.

Are you able to post the wiring diagram including the ‘c’ part for links?

I’m thinking that the red link wire isn’t needed, but not 100%.

What do you suggest? Take the link out? Do you think that will allow the central heating to work as well as the hot water?
