Power shower or pump and mixer?

I'm installing a wet-room style en suit shower in the main bedroom. I've got a Mira Event over the bath in the bathroom and whilst that works really well, I'd like to have a deluge style in the en suit.
My question - do I really need a 3 bar pump to supply an 8" deluge (as Salamander tells me) or could I run a deluge from a power-shower like the event? Thanks.

you'll need a descent size pump the event won't give any performance for a 8" shower head.

No, you need a seperate pump, the event would in no way cope.

Minimum of 2.5 bar will do nicely, but if you can get more it wouldn't hurt.

That's an interesting point, thanks. If I go for a 2.5bar what sort of quantity of water will it get through? I've got 117litre hot water tank, and it will probably be being used at the same time as the mira event in the bathroom!

don't think you'll be useing them both together.

the event on its own will give 8 l/min to 16 l/min flow.
if you run that on average speed you'll drain all your hot water in about 17 mins.

not taking into account of running a 2.5 bar shower aswell.
or heat recovery of your cylinder.

Sure, but I don't shower in water at 60C!

However, am I right in thinking that the event is about 0.1 bar, so does that mean a 2.5 bar can deliver 200 to 400 litres per minute? Surely not!

average speed flow 12 l/min 6 l/min hot - 6 l/min cold.

117 ltr divide by 6 = 19 mins to empty your cylinder
if you want to do it on full flow thats 14 mins to empty.

a stuart turner monsoon 2.5 bar will shift a max of 55 l/min.
