Hi All,
We have a Powermax135 boiler, which is now operational, after many months of hassle.

I have a bolt connection that fits onto the main body of the boiler, from the cold/hot water feed on the DHW hot water side, which is leaking profusely, but we cannot loosen off the bolt at all ????

It must be held on fast with yars of scale etc, does anyone know of a product that will enable me to loosen the bolt off ??? At the moment it will be a case of shearing off the bolt and connector, its held that tight.

Thanks,

I actually saw an engineer using a small explosive charge to get a propellor of a boat on TV reciently! :D

Might not have the same effect on the bolt in question tho!!!

would be funny if you did that and destroyed the tank but the bolt stayed put

lmao

Maybe it was trhe Brainaic program?

Perhaps they were really trying to get the boat off the propeller?

We have not seen your "bolt" and you have not posted any picture.

All I can say is that most competent plumbers have large Stilsons about 900 mm long or even longer and they will remove anything which "wants to be removed". A scaffold pipe can be used for added leverage at the risk of breaking the tool!

Sometimes I suppose there will be a screwed part which will not come out but I cannot remember any old 2" pipework which I was unable to ever get apart.

If you want answers poking fun at a problem post on here ???

If you can't provide sensible answers, why not fill your time with something worthwhile ?? Unless that is not an option of course....
