Preparing waterproof plasterboard for tiling

Hi all,

I am about to embark on re doing my shower cubicle which has a stud wall on one side. I am going to replace the existing plaster board with the waterproof stuff.
Do I need to skim the waterproof board prior to tiling or can I just tile straight onto it with waterproof adhesive?

I didn't know wether to put this question on the tiling forum?
