Pressure testing

With copper pipe, only the CH circuit would be tested with water set to 1 1/2 times the working pressure for an hour with no leaks/pressure drops. If it's plastic then it is also tested with water pressure but significantly higher.

Depends on the type of plastic fitting, ie "O" Ring first or Grab Ring First (see post No. 11)

18bar for polypipe stuff, 10-12 for most others. best to test at around 3 bar/working pressure for 10 mins before pumping up to full pressure as somebody else mentioned alittle dust or debris between an oring and pipe can hold at higher pressures sometimes but leak at working pressures. Thats why its important that plastic is installed in a clean workspace. makes me worried when i see somebody first fixing with all there fittings on the floor covered in dust/saw dust.
