Was reading the house builders bible by mark Brinkley and so far he's pretty spot on with his pricing.

His model house was 122m2 and he estimates £6900 to tile it in Spanish slate. £4100 materials £2800 labour.

I have a roof that size and so far got a quote supply and fix £12000 and labour only (different guy) £4000.

My labour only guy said £35m2 the book said £30-£50 for clay tiles supply and fit.

Any idea if I'm being overquoted or marks book is well out of touch. It's this years edition.

Get more quotes, getting one will not provide you with a market value.

Your guys have the luxury of seeing what they are quoting on.
you could have 122 m2 of gable to gable in which case They could bang it out in no time.. and do ok.
On the other hand, you may have hips, valleys sky lites etc etc.. Chuck the book away and get another quote
Slate and tile totally different.
