changed the bulb for above. Now the light is on constantly. Have tried adusting sensitivity and timing settings and switching off for 10 seconds plus then back on again (to reset Manual Overide) but no joy. Any ideas. Light is probably a year or two old.

If you gave it time( 5 Mins) to stabalise after switchng back on again(before walking in it's path) & it was ok before you changed the lamp & that is all you have done then it must be the pir gone faulty. Not sure about the latest ones but they used to be very unreliable. Time for a new fitting me thinks. 
Perhaps it should be renamed the B&Q Ford Open floodlight.
Throw it in the bin and buy a new one.
