Well the authorities have decided that being 'British' is actually a 'racist' thing to do.
No flying your St Georges flag or you might upset people.
This country is a sad remnant of what it was only 30 years ago.
Would I join the Army today like I did 30 years ago.
Nope not a chance.
Do I have an eye on living out my life in another land?
Yep but where?
The sad thing is that when I was younger I took it all in what being British was about , stiff upper lip' , 'dont complain' , 'head down and work hard' 'Good will prevail', Be a net contributor to the state.
etc etc.
Ethics were drummed into you at school and they made sense and a small minority who disobeyed those ideals were looked down upon. The drug users , the theives , the illegal immigrants etc etc.
Then things changed when everyone suddenly decided that the underdog was the drug user and the illegal immigrant was entitled and work was for the stupid to be milked. Big businesses no longer had a moral duty to be fair and governments no longer were responsible for managing the country and its stability and future only their expenses and the next election win.
Common sense was thrown out of the window and in came ambulance chasing lawyers and un unsustainable egalitarian fantasy.
Now I no longer fit into this world it has changed so much but not for the better.
Once upon a time people worked in factories producing goods to resale. An honest days work for an honest days pay was the expression.
Now the factories are call centres.
Make 300 phone calls a day and you might just fool someone into signing up your irrelevant product and keep your job.
Take me back to the days when tea break had the staff playing footie in the yard.
