Looks like they took the plastic fitting down to tile the wall.
Not sure if thats the feed in, or out to another light.


 
Is there enough slack on the cable to remake that end?

If not, that is going to be really annoying :evil:
 
Why is there an earth clamp on the pot end?

It is a plastic based light fitting, the earth picks up the two core copper
pyro via the galvanised coupler and the earth clamp and
I presume connects to the earth terminal in the fitting.
 
Bit rough - would have been better using a conduit inspection box to pick the earth.
