Popped round to a mates to give him a hand to lift his new Stoves double oven into place.

I noticed that both of the thermocouples were just left dangling.

Is this par for the course with Stoves and if not will they invalidate the warranty if he just pops them into the holders?

TBH the build quality is pretty pants. Glad I buy German..

Alot of the Stoves Cookers (mostly Range versions and some rebadged kit) I have looked at have had a pretty indifferent build quality definitely not commensurate with their costs.

German stuff does not have the same quality now as it used to I assume you are referring to BSH (Bosch, Siemens, Hausgeräte GmbH) who also own Neff and Gaggenau amongst others.

Alot of their kit is now being made abroad (ie not Germany) including in China. Some of the quality and finish has gone downhill and the price for original spares is exorbitant.

The other major 'German' Brand is AEG which is owned by Electrolux. Alot of parts are the same as they put in their much cheaper Electrolux, Zanussi and Tricity Bendix machines.

German is no guarantee of quality, Bosch oven elements are a joke for example.

Certainly in range cookers Britain leads the way, AGA-Rangemaster in particular.

As for stoves, I did 6 years with them, I'm not a big fan of their gas stuff but their built in electric ovens arent that bad especially for the price of some of them.
