hello

I have received the following quote: is it reasonable?
● Changing of pipework from 15 to 22mm for central heating in kitchen and dining area and hall way
● Changing of mains isolation valve
● Installation of new plumbing work in bathroom in preparation for wet room
● Moving of radiator in front room and installation of additional radiator in the front room
● Installation of Plume kit for boiler
○ Labour = £2,600.
○ Materials = £600.
In addition, if you wanted room thermostat, it would be £120 for the thermostat and £75 for the installation.
Cost of timer for boiler = £65 and cost of installation would be £45

another plumber is asking for £140 a day for 10 days work plus materials.

The best way for you to gauge whether the costs are reasonable would be to get a couple more plumbers/ engineers round to quote and then you should be able to judge.

please tell me what would be a reasonable labour charge?

A reasonable labour charge for a skilled man is £40 /hour. More in London.
One guy has already told you 10 days work.
Assuming 8 hours per day £3,200 is reasonable. The quote seems a bit cheap to me.

Can you tell me how much would be reasonable to fix my car?

You are a bit unfair.if you told me you were quoted £500 to change your windscreen I would say its a rip off. So there's no harm asking if my quote is over expensive?

But what if the windscreen has rain and light sensors?

We have no idea what may or may not be involved.

So there's no harm asking if my quote is over expensive?

Tradesman populate these forums to answer questions about plumbing & heating, which yours isn't. Asking them to waste time pouring over your quote is insulting.

If you think people who work in the trade are worthless, then DIY. You can then post back for advice about the actual job we do.
