Hi All,

I appreciate there are questions of this type on the site but i have searched and can't find an answer to my particular issue.

I have raised the floor in my garage 4 inches as part of turning it into a Utility area. I laid a 1200 Gauge Damp Proof Sheet and studded 3 by 2 timber lengths onto this using hammer fixings. Unfortunately i had a visit from my Building Inspector today and he says i haven't vented it enough and the wood will rot (I Imagine a Schoolboy error). I need to use Pressure Treated Timber or treat my existing timber in such a way that I can screed onto it. I'm definitely not keen on ripping the floor up, so does anybody know if i can get the existing timber treated 'onsite' anyhow or how i can add ventilation to satisfy the building regs?

I look forward to your advice!!

Neil.

Thanks for that, i'll check the form out. I have passed all of the other insulation tests and I hoped this one would not be a problem as a friend of mine did their's the same and got the work passed! (Dodgy???!)

Next time I think I'll know the answer to 'DIYnot!!'
