Makes you wonder why a meggers exist if you cannot use them to check parts of circuits.....

Meggers were ( and still are ) designed to test circuits ( cables, sockets etc ). They were not designed to test appliances that could be connected to the circuits.

The use of meggers was extended to test simple appliances that did not have voltage sensitive electronics built into them.

I hope it's just a phase he's going through...
