Why does my oil burner not fire,yet does not lock out,just keeps running on and on,thanks :: :cry:

Photo cell faulty, common fault on this burner about the only one, very reliable apart from this.
 
Could also be faulty coil, control box or motor. Could also be flame not yellow enough, ie too much air, but that's if nothing else fixed it.
 
Sounds like a faulty control box to me because it's not even going through the light up cycle.

Afraid that's unjustified. If the photocell is faulty, when it's disconnected the burner may fire and then lockout. That proves the control box is ok.
 
Mmmm, but I doubt he had disconnected the photocell at the time.
