I have to install a new C/H system and I am having problems deciding what controls to use for it (I have been told that some controls work better with certain boilers etc). As I only normally install Combi's (and that is when I have no other work) the conventional wiring of a system is new to me. The only customer specification is for there to be a wireless Digistat. I am not part P registered so my sparky mate will be certifying it for me. The boiler going is a Worcester CDi (Conventional) and I want a control system that is going to be relatively easy to fit. I know Danfoss and Drayton make a wireless system. I would appreciate some help on this..

Wiring's pretty simple, the receiver bit "looks" like a thermostat. The instructions will be on the websites.

Chris.. Thanks for the reply.
To be honest I am quite conpetant at wiring etc, I really just wondered if anybody had used a wireless thermostat with a timer that they were particularly impressed with. After speaking to my supplier about controls etc I got a bit concerned about compatibility with the Worcester, am I being a bit cynical thinking that maybe he didn't understand about the controls himself so that is why he said that I am better getting them from somewhere else !!! or maybe I am just becoming a grumpy and cynical old man.....

I'm pretty sure the cdi has a plug in wireless receiver option...you just hand over the remote stat and tell them to keep it on the coffee table, no wiring required.

I believe wireless stats have to be docked where the rad with no trv is, what customer does with it after that is another matter.

I always use s plan over y plan. I just buy the complete packs, it's much better deal. I like all things sensible and reliable if I am given free reign. If customer wants something else that's up to them but if they want my advice they get s plan.

For combis (Buderus) I buy the Buderus dedicated single channel wireless programable/rstat, because it is cheap and doesn;t require 240votls so part p can eff off.

No, they do not have plug ins for Worcester CDI Convential/Regular boilers.

Hmmm I've had to have a quick check, but for the 24 cdi 4731130 try these:

acl drayton transmitter worc. no. 7-716-192-004-0
" " receiver 7-716-192-005-0
siebe remote programmer system 7-716-192-006-0

My sentiments exactly!
