Red Cedar Cladding in wet room

I am thinking of using a red cedar in my wet room, I have enclosed an image of how im going to do this.
Has anybody attempted to do this or am I being a complete idiot even considering this as a finish in a wet room.

A friend had a red cedar tray/mat in shower and it wrotted away in about 18months.
