red hot drier plug

Hi,
Ive noticed the plug and cord on my clothes drier getting really hot lately i burnt my hand on the plug earlier obviously this isnt normal but what are the possible causes?

Poor quality plug, poor connection between pins & socket. Try it plugged into another socket. If you have the same problem & you are capable then cut off & replace plug with a new one. If problem persists then get the machine checked the plug will melt eventually with that amount of heat & could be a fire hazard.

Is it plugged in using the original wire/moulded plug? Sounds like the wire is too thin & is struggling to carry the nessisary current & dissipate the heat properly.
